Exhibition ART IS A NOVEL. THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF WORDS WHICH BECOME IMAGES

On 24 April 2013 a new exhibition will be opened entitled Art is a novel. The extraordinary story of words which become images dedicated to the relationship between art and literature in the XXth and XXIth centuries. The curator of this large-scale public showing is Luca Beatrice.

The exhibition, organized by the Perugia Town Council and the Umbria Regional Council, will be inaugurated during the International Journalism Festival (Perugia, 24-28 April 2013) in association with the Readers Club of Perugia and of Turin. Art is a novel aims to tell the extraordinary tale of words becoming images, unravelling like a game among the literary genres of the XXth century and of this first part of the third millenium in the attempt to answer the following question: how can images visualize words and stories impressed in the individual memory, contributing to the cultural upbringing of each and every one of us? Paintings, sculptures, photographs, illustrations, videos and film frames, as well as design objects and lyrics, will tell this fascinating journey which will be completed by the alert and accomplished gaze of the visitor.

Your contribution as readers is fundamental since it will be inspiring for the curator. Each and every one of us has his own “livres du chevet”, our life books, those you would take to a desert island, to dedicate to his/her beloved, to cherish with those we most care about. Those which symbolise a reference point in our existence.

So you too, following the exhibition itinerary identified by the curator, will be able to give us precious suggestions.
